Working at HSSMI | Meet New Starter Michael Guest
HSSMI are thrilled to welcome Michael Guest to our Manufacturing Engineering team. Michael arrives with extensive expertise across all areas of manufacturing—combining a solid academic research foundation with broad project delivery experience in the automotive sector. He has contributed to assembly standards, process planning and launch, business case development, remanufacturing, and has spearheaded lean manufacturing initiatives.
Why did you decide to join HSSMI?
MG: I’d been following HSSMI for several years after reading an article on The Manufacturer about interesting work that had been carried out for a client. As I looked towards the future and how I could be more heavily involved in sustainable manufacturing projects, the opportunity came up to apply for a Technical Lead role which aligned with my career development plan, and I did not hesitate to apply.
How has HSSMI and your team supported your development?
MG: From day one, HSSMI has shown real trust—sending me on-site to work directly with clients. The company is growth-oriented and encourages their teams and individuals to seek development opportunities and take on additional responsibilities. There are also a wide range of projects to get involved in whether on the commercial or research side.
