HSSMI and the consortium partners of the Electrified Powertrain Pilot Line for Manufacturing Engineering (E:PrIME) project were invited to the Industry 4.0 Sumit and Expo, held in Manchester on the 10th April 2019.
HSSMI’s Executive Director, Axel Bindel chaired the panel discussion on the topic of “Industry 4.0 in the context of Manufacturing Engineering, with an example of an electrification project”, focusing the session around the E:PrIME project. Axel was joined by Ian Constance from APC, Chris White from Ford, David Wells from JW Froehlich, Andrew Hodgson from Siemens, and James Carruthers from Signal Noise.
The panel discussed the importance and benefits of using Digital Twins and the barriers to Industry 4.0 in manufacturing engineering. The panel also showcased the new E:PrIME video to the audience, which went through all the work the consortium has been doing in the last year and what’s to come in the future.
