HSSMI Solidifies Global Expansion: Unveils New ‘.com’ Domain to Reflect Exponential Growth Across Diverse Geographies and Sectors
/0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Emily Laver
HSSMI is moving our domain address from ‘.org’ to ‘.com’. This is to reflect the organisation we have evolved into today – an independent, world class manufacturing consultancy with international projects and clients. As such, our website and email addresses are in the process of being changed over.
More than just a domain name change
When HSSMI was initially set up, we started life as a ‘not for profit’ Research and Technology Organisation (RTO). Naturally, this carried a ‘.org’ domain name. As we have evolved over time, HSSMI has built up its level of expert knowledge, industrial experience and its team of manufacturing experts to help industry to scale up innovative, low carbon technologies.
In parallel, the demand for our consultancy services has grown significantly, and in 2020 led to our formal transition to a private consultancy organisation (HSSMI Trading Ltd). Since then, we have grown the number of customers and projects we deliver, whilst diversifying into new sectors and global locations. This includes clients in USA, India, Switzerland, Estonia, Slovakia, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, and across the Automotive, Aerospace and Energy sectors. This growth has culminated in year on year revenue growth and profitability since we made the transition 3 years ago.
Hence, the move to change our domain name from .org to .com is more than just an operational update. It is symbolic of the organisation we have grown into today – an independent SME that specialises in helping global manufacturers to scale up production of next generation technologies to support a net zero future.
Looking to the future, we expect to significantly grow our organisation further in the next 3 years. This growth will come from delivering more consultancy projects, as well as from further bolstering our team of manufacturing experts. Our move to .com is illustrative of our readiness to do this internationally.
As per our announcement last January, HSSMI’s charitable actions will continue, but under a dedicated organisation: HSSMI Foundation. This is the only part of the wider HSSMI brand that will retain the .org domain name and can be accessed through www.hssmi-foundation.org.
The practical bit
We have begun the transition now for HSSMI’s core team and content from .org to .com. This mostly affects our main website (www.hssmi.org now becomes www.hssmi.com) and emails (david.stewart@hssmi.org becomes david.stewart@hssmi.com). During the transition, our .org domain will still be active and any emails sent to our old email addresses will be redirected to the new .com email address.
As you may be aware, there is always a risk with such a change that new communications from us may end up in personal junk/spam folders or be held in your quarantine filters. If you believe a communication has been missed, please ensure to check your junk mail or quarantine system.
You may also need to ensure you or your IT department ‘whitelist’ the new email addresses for future communications. Whilst we don’t foresee this being necessary for most people, some email security measures can be extremely stringent.
