Working at HSSMI | Meet New Starter Sabeeh Rehman
HSSMI are delighted to have Sabeeh Rehman join our Digital Manufacturing team. Sabeeh specializes in system integration and smart connectivity at HSSMI, using digital technologies to improve manufacturing performance. He holds a PhD from the University of Hertfordshire, with research in deep learning, computer vision, and real-time object detection. Sabeeh is looking forward to developing his expertise in manufacturing automation, particularly in the automotive sector and related fields.
Why did you decide to join HSSMI?
SR: Coming straight off the back of my PhD, I really wanted to transition into a role where I could see cutting-edge technology applied in the real world. HSSMI stood out because of the sheer variety of the work. It’s not just theoretical; it’s about getting hands-on with automation and making a tangible impact on the factory floor.
How has HSSMI and your team supported your development?
SR: The team has been fantastic. I’ve been thrown straight into the mix with both brand-new initiatives and fast-moving existing projects, which has been incredibly interesting. Everyone has been so generous with their time, helping me get up to speed on the ongoing work so I could hit the ground running and start contributing right away.
What do you appreciate most about working at HSSMI?
SR: Definitely the variety and the hands-on exposure. I love that I get to experience entirely new technologies and actually see how manufacturing operates right there on the factory floor. Because we work with clients from so many different fields, every single project brings a fresh opportunity to learn something new. No two days are exactly the same!
What are your expectations from working at HSSMI?
SR: I like to set ambitious targets, so my main expectation is to push myself to become an expert in manufacturing automation—specifically within the automotive sector and its related fields—over the next two to three years. HSSMI feels like the perfect environment to help me reach that goal.
How will working at HSSMI help your career?
SR: The exposure here is invaluable. Gaining hands-on experience with such a wide array of technologies and diverse manufacturing practices is exactly what I need to grow. It is building a really strong, practical foundation for my career and keeping my learning curve steep and exciting.
